Making a Difference in Our Communities
We have worked to improve the lives of hundreds of individuals, families and communities across South Africa. In collaboration with the Department of Home Affairs and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), we provide reliable information, guidance on lawful documentation and support to help our community members establish their lives in South Africa.
Through legal education programmes and skills development, we also work to influence policies and decision-making, promote social cohesion, and contribute to peace and unity across Africa.

About Us
We are a team of changemakers who believe that every helping hand has the power to transform a nation.
Established in 2015, the Congolese Civil Society of South Africa (CCSSA) is committed to societal transformation through social cohesion among African communities in South Africa. Through integration programmes and youth empowerment, we work to preserve Africa’s history and culture while fostering unity and building a more inclusive society.
The CCSSA’s Community School Initiative
Empowerment through education Through a variety of workshops and lessons hosted by the CCSSA, the Community School houses an objective of educating individuals and communities about the laws and regulations regarding lawful habitation in South Africa.
Community Education
Empowering immigrants and local communities through education on citizenship, immigration laws and navigating life in South Africa.
Legal Awareness
Helping individuals understand the Refugees Act, their rights and the process of obtaining lawful documentation in South Africa.
Radical Hospitality
Promoting inclusion through welcoming spaces, legal awareness and meaningful connections across communities.
Community Integration
Building networks of mutual support that help individuals connect, access opportunities and thrive in their communities.
