The National conference of the South African commission of human rights, focused on the rights of migrants in South Africa.
The audience consisted of officials from The Department of Affairs, border management authorities from Musina, advocate and law professor Thuli Mandonsela from the Stellenbosch University as well as other stakeholders from the University of Pretoria, government officials, CoRMSA, SCALABRINI and The Congolese Civil Society of South Africa.
Discussion touched on shifting general perceptions towards all matters concerning migrant rights in South Africa. Chairperson of the CCSSA, Isiaha Mombilo, recommended an implementation plan and resolutions with a set timeline as part of an achieved objective of the 2026 conference.
